Even the reading materials were so cool compared to the usual magazines. Avin was incredible and gave me the perfect euphoric haircut and color. Goldenrod is a one of kind salon across the board, but especially in our little town. When I first started coming to Goldenrod, I deeply disliked having my hair done and would have Avin turn me away from the mirror, which he was always happy to accommodate and never judged me for. I previously struggled with stylists who never listened to me and I always felt uncomfortable as a visibly queer person in old-fashioned salons or barber shops that weren’t used to working with people like me. Avin is truly an artist with over a decade of experience that shows not just in how cute he’ll leave you feeling by the end of your appointment, but also in how he respects the needs of every individual client. In the time I’ve spent at Goldenrod I’ve learned that every single member of their team is equally dedicated to making the space inclusive and accessible for all of their clients which is really what makes the overall experience so special. I can’t imagine going anywhere else!

His soft pricing makes it so on a grad student salary I can still get a haircut with someone I trust and always look polished for professional events.

If I could give my experience at Goldenrod a million stars, I would. Prior to coming to Goldenrod I spent three years and literally thousands of dollars getting my hair done at a salon that was not welcoming and by someone who never listened to what I envisioned for my hair. I took a leap of faith in trying somewhere new and it was such a great decision. Mariah is the absolute best, she made me feel like I was hanging out with a friend and truly listened to my wants in terms of hair color. The environment at Goldenrod made me feel welcomed and at peace; generally in busy spaces I find myself emotionally drained when in reality an afternoon of self care should be refreshing, which is exactly how I felt, refreshed. Rachael is AMAZING! She is such a skilled hairstylist and the entire experience is very relaxing and she is a great conversationalist. She took time to understand what I wanted and explain exactly what she was going to do. The shampoo is SO relaxing. She also took a lot of time to explain how to style my hair at home and showed me step by step. Such a unique experience - she really goes above and beyond! So thankful to have found her!

My stylist, Adriana, was kind, thoughtful, experienced, and understanding to what I wanted, and tailored the cut to fit my needs. She also gave me great recommendations for hair care products and was a great educator about hair care and styling in general! Truly a wonderful experience, and would highly recommend!!

Angelina slayed my color so hard for pride month. It was definitely one of the best salon experiences I’ve had in my life, I can’t recommend Angelina and Goldenrod enough!

I smile every time I enter Goldenrod. The vibe is calm and clear that this is a place to be you. Though I am dedicated to my professional, I love hearing the conversations amongst the hair stylists and their clients and feel like there is so much respect and fun here!

I had a lovely appointment with Angel as a color model! We talked about her inspiration for the look and my hair goals, and from there the fun began. I was very comfortable throughout the entire process and Angel was a big component of that! The color came out so beautifully and my hair feels fresh as a daisy. We discussed future hair looks and products but I never felt pressured to buy anything. However with the results I’ve had, I am more interested in trying a few and feel good knowing just how they perform with my hair and texture plus they’re sustainable! I will definitely be planning a trip back for some more hair cutting shenanigans soon and a few new products for my hair care routine. Thank you as always to Goldenrod Parlor for being an exceptional business, and Angel for the copper look that will be the talk of the baby shower!
